Liv Warfield wasn’t an ordinary contestant when she walked onto the America’s Got Talent stage in 2024. She was already an experienced singer who had performed alongside the legendary Prince as part of his band, New Power Generation.

But despite years of experience, Liv still had something to prove.

She wanted the world to hear her own music.

When she stepped in front of the judges, she chose to perform her original song, “Stare.” And the moment she began singing, the entire theater felt her presence.

Her voice was fierce, soulful, and explosive.

Liv didn’t simply sing the song — she commanded the stage with the confidence of a woman who had spent years performing in front of audiences around the world. Her powerful vocals blended rock and soul, building into a performance that was impossible to ignore.

The judges watched in amazement.

Simon Cowell, known for his demanding standards, looked completely captivated. Liv wasn’t trying to imitate another artist or follow a trend. She had her own sound, her own style, and an unmistakable stage presence.

As the performance reached its climax, the audience erupted into cheers.

Then Simon made his decision.

He reached forward and pressed the Golden Buzzer.

Gold confetti rained down as Liv stood on stage, overwhelmed by the moment. The experienced performer who had once shared stages with Prince had now earned one of the biggest honors on America’s Got Talent.

But her story had an extraordinary chapter that many viewers were only beginning to discover.

Years earlier, Prince had not only worked with Liv through New Power Generation but had also served as executive producer of her solo album, The Unexpected.

During the AGT quarterfinals, Liv performed the album’s title track, a song Prince had written specifically for her.

Once again, she brought her powerful voice and unmistakable personality to the stage. The judges were impressed, but the audience vote ended her competition journey at the quarterfinal stage.

Still, Liv’s story was never simply about winning a television competition.

She had already spent years developing her craft, working with one of music’s most influential artists, and building a sound that belonged entirely to her.

America’s Got Talent gave her another opportunity to introduce that sound to a much wider audience.

And when Simon Cowell pressed the Golden Buzzer, it felt like recognition for a talent that had been waiting far too long for the spotlight.

Liv Warfield didn’t need a competition to become a singer.

She was already one.

But she used that stage to remind the world that true talent can keep finding new ways to shine — no matter how long the journey has been.
